Exceptional programming to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary

POINTE-CLAIRE, October 11, 2016 – The mayor of the City of Pointe-Claire, Morris Trudeau, is pleased to announce that a wide range of exceptional artistic programming will be offered throughout 2017 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation.
“Next year, we will celebrate the 150th anniversary of our country’s unification by offering activities highlighting the richness of our culture,” says Mayor Trudeau. “Everyone will be invited to participate in artistic events that will bring people together on many different themes.”

To support and promote this large-scale project involving the community, a curator, Katarzyna Basta, has joined the team. Deeply involved in the artistic domain, she recently founded an organization whose goal is to use art to strengthen ties within the community.
“Everyone is invited to participate in one of these meetings and in all of the artistic activities that will be offered in the coming year,” concludes the mayor. “This is an opportunity for us to celebrate our cultural diversity. Our identity is shaped by what makes us different and what brings us together.”
